After several years of building custom cement items, including water fountains, I decided to make a 3 cascading pots feature with a brick base. Here are the images of the process – beginning to end. I poured a 2 inch deep, 2 ft x 2ft concrete footer for it rest on. The bricks were then mortared in, with the water tube inside the middle and fed to the top. The 3 pots were hand made here at the studio in a small, medium and large with holes drilled for the copper tubes to direct the flow into the next pot. I then acid stained the pots (nice copper brown tones) and used clear silicone to “seal” the inside and outside. There is a video here to show it in action along with the beautiful sounds of water dropping into water. This was my first attempt with this design and I think it turned out pretty nice. I opted for a corded pump so we could turn it on and off with a flip of a switch rather than solar, which we did try… but would go out with every cloud that passed over.
